Amber Valley Borough Council Cabinet considers community grants
At its cabinet meeting on 17 March Amber Valley councillors will consider making grants to support the work of a number of large voluntary and independent organisations across the borough.
Grants totalling over £220,000 have been proposed to the following organisations:
- Amber Valley Access - £2,768
- Belper Leisure Centre - £80,000
- Citizens Advice - £64,440
- Derbyshire Community Transport - £3,155
- Rural Action Derbyshire - £2,540
- Derbyshire Unemployed Workers - £20,000
- Belper North Mill Trust - £47,600
Commented, Leader of the Council, Councillor Chris Emmas-Williams: "All of the organisations that we hope to support make significant positive contributions to the communities they serve in Amber Valley. These groups particularly support the vulnerable residents of our borough and also secure historic services for our people. We feel it is very important that the council not only endorses their brilliant efforts but also backs their work financially."
