Amber Valley launches and extends free Christmas parking for all
Amber Valley Borough Council is alerting residents and visitors, that they can take advantage of its popular annual free Christmas parking initiative, which this year will run from 11:00am each day, for two weeks, in all of the borough council’s pay and display car parks.
The free parking runs from Friday 11 December through to, and including, Saturday 26 December, and is aimed at encouraging residents and visitors to shop in the borough, to support traders and the local economy.
Amber Valley Borough Council’s portfolio holder for regeneration and community safety, Councillor Ben Bellamy, commented "We would really like local shoppers to visit their local market towns of Alfreton, Belper, Heanor and Ripley and support their local traders. This year has obviously seen extremely challenging trading conditions for our retailers and so we hope it will help that we are extending our annual free parking which this year will start, a couple of hours earlier than in previous years, at 11.00am each day for the two week period."
Free parking is valid from 11.00am each day from 11 December 2020 and ends at midnight on 26 December 2020. Other rules regarding parking in disabled parking bays and maximum stays will still apply.
