Ripley Town Council is excited to let everyone know about Ripley's Big Day Out.
Specifically targeted at the older generations of the township of Ripley and its’ surrounding villages of, Heage, Nether Heage, Ambergate, Sawmills, Waingroves and Marehay this is a completely FREE day out at Midland Railway – Butterley.
To be held on Wednesday 19th July 2017 from 10am until 3pm, this day will include – FREE entry into Midland Railway – Butterley, a FREE return ride on the train to Swanwick Junction and FREE light refreshments. Once at Swanwick Junction there will be entertainment and access to lots of stalls giving advice on all manner of things from Finance to food!

We are still getting more organisations on board to join us and give advice and support to all who would like it and will update our website www.ripleytowncouncil.gov.uk and our Facebook page ‘Ripley and Proud’ with more information of the coming weeks.
There will be a Church Service in the restored Tin Church, a display of Ripley’s history by the Heritage Society, take a ride on old Midland General bus for a ride PLUS all the attractions of Swanwick Junction.
Please join us for what looks set to be a great day out and please make sure you let any family and friends, who would enjoy and benefit from this day, know the details.
We hope that most people will turn up at Butterley Station, there is plenty of free parking. There will also be a limited amount of transport available for those who would not be able to join us without a lift.
