Residents call in for Body MOT
More than 40 Belper residents took full advantage of the chance to check out how their body was handling the stresses and strains of modern living when they attended a ‘Wellbeing Event’ run by Amber Valley Borough Council's ‘Community Movers’ project, at the Co-operative store on Strutt Street.
The event featured a number of local support organisations - P3 Amber Trust Mental Health, Alzheimers/Dementia Society, Community Transport CT4TC, Derbyshire Core Victim Support, Air Ambulance, DCHS, Citizens Advice, Strictly No falling, Amber Valley Walking for Health - and many more.
Visitors had a free Body MOT and given lifestyle advice from health referral staff from Belper Leisure Centre. They also had the chance to try a spot of Nordic Walking.
BBC Radio Derby covered the event during the day and presenter Andy Twigg even underwent an on-air Body MOT!
