Trust launches Youth Panel to engage young people
Derbyshire Wildlife Trust is delighted to announce that it is setting up a Youth Panel, the first of its kind across the Wildlife Trusts.
A prominent youth voice can shape how we move forward with our vision in a way that appeals to younger people. From the Youth Panel, we aim to gain a better understanding of how young people think about, and react to, wildlife issues. We can also learn from them how to engage other young people with our goals and vision.
The Youth Panel will have eight members aged between 16 and 25, ideally with a 50-50 split on gender. Meetings will take place with the same regularity as the main board, lasting for around one and a half hours. A Chairperson and secretary will be elected who would each hold the position for a period of one year.
