Teenage Cancer Trust Receives Donations From League Of Zeal MCC
On Wednesday 22nd March 2017, League of Zeal MCC (a local motorcycle club) donated £1000.00 to Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT)
League of Zeal members & Alli Choulan presented Joanne Benbow TCT Regional Fundraiser for the East Midlands with the money at The Eagle Tavern in Heage. The money was raised when the Bikers Gearbox Matlock Bath decided to sadly close its doors for the final time and have a Farewell Party and Hog Roast thank event at the Fish Pond Matlock Bath on 24th February. The Bikers Gearbox has been an amazing one stop shop for Bikers, and has been serving customers in Matlock Bath for the past 20 years. Alli Choulan the owner of the Bikers Gearbox donated the ticket money from the event and personally made this up to £1000.00 for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Alli has also personally given League of Zeal a further £1000.00 to help future events and raise even more money for the TCT.
Joanne says: “We’re hugely grateful for the support of League of Zeal MCC, and of course to Bikers Gearbox & everyone who attended this brilliant event! Your passion for the charity is life changing thank you.
Around seven young people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK every day. The support of events like this ensure that these young people will get the best treatment, care and support, from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer’.”
League of Zeal MCC is planning to hold their annual event 'Old Goats Grumble 3' family friendly music festival on the weekend 7/8/9th July 2017 at Sycamore Farm, Shottle and tickets are available via our website www.loz-mcc.co.uk or tel 0786065341 and will be raising more money for Teenage Cancer Trust.
TCT was formed in 1990, before this there was no specialist cancer care for young people offered within the NHS. Now there are 28 specialist units and teams of expert nurses and youth support staff in NHS hospitals across the UK, offering young people with cancer the very best care and support from the moment they are diagnosed, throughout treatment, and after treatment has finished.
