Crime Commissioner's meeting open to all

Published on Thursday 23 March 2017

Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa is keen to answer residents' questions about policing matters at his next ‘open to all' meeting on Monday (27 March, 2pm).

He said today: "My Strategic Governance Board meeting begins with a 30-minute Q & A session when people can either ask questions in person or by email or twitter.

"Policing is obviously very important to us all, so I do urge people to ask anything they want to know or are concerned about. Listening to what the county's residents say and answering their questions plays a vital part in delivering the kind of police service that they want and expect."

The Commissioner will be joined at the meeting at Derbyshire Police HQ in Ripley by members of his own Office as well as high ranking police officers. It starts at 2pm with answering the public's questions. Residents will be welcome to observe the full meeting that follows, but may not take part in it once the Q & A session is complete. The business part of the meeting will begin early if the Q & A session is shorter than 30 minutes.

Followers of @DerbysPCC and @DerbysPolice can tweet their questions by using #askSGB in the text of the question. Questions via twitter should arrive no later than 2.15pm to allow time for a response. Questions can also be submitted in advance via email to the Chief Executive (David.Peet.16406@Derbyshire.PNN.Police.UK). All questions will be answered either at the meeting or shortly afterwards if information needed is not at hand.

Matters put before the Board will include acquisitive crime and offender management, and the Police and Crime Delivery Plan. Reports on reoffending and on Victim Services will also be heard.

Reports from the Chief Constable will include an update on Contact Management which involves call taking and related processes, and a presentation on restorative justice processes.
