Council supports local organisations
A number of organisations across Amber Valley are to receive grants from the Borough Council to support their important work in the local community.
The Council’s Cabinet has approved six grants worth a combined total of almost £160,000, to a diverse cross-section of community service providers.
The two largest beneficiaries will be Belper Leisure Centre, who will receive £80,000 and Citizens Advice who will be given £64,440.
Other grants have been awarded to…
- Amber Valley Access - £3,080
- Community Transport for Town and County - £3,155
- Disabled Derbyshire Coalition for Inclusive Living - £6,540
- Rural Action Derbyshire - £2,540
Commenting on the grant awards, Leader of the Council, Cllr Kevin Buttery said: “Although our budgets have been greatly squeezed in recent years we feel it is very important that we continue to support organisations that are making a really positive impact on the quality of life for large numbers of our residents.”
