Your chance to have a say on the Local Plan for Amber Valley
Amber Valley Borough Council will be publishing a Draft Local Plan for public consultation on 17 March 2017 and will be inviting representations to be made by 28 April 2017.
The Draft Local Plan will include a range of policies and proposals to promote housing and economic growth in Amber Valley, whilst protecting and enhancing the Borough’s environment.
The Draft Local Plan and supporting documents will be available to view, from 17 March 2017, on the Council’s website (www.ambervalley.gov.uk) and at the following locations during normal opening hours:-
- Alfreton - Library and Town Centre Office
- Belper - Library and Town Centre Office
- Duffield Library
- Mackworth Library
- Heanor - Library and Town Centre Office
- Ripley - Library and Town Hall (AVBC Offices)
- Mackworth Library
- Somercotes Library
A series of events will also be held as part of the public consultation, where officers will be available to discuss the Draft Local Plan and answer any questions. Details of the events are as follows:

From 17 March 2017, a consultation form to make representations on the Draft Local Plan will be available at www.ambervalley.gov.uk/localplan2016 to either complete on-line or to download. Forms will also be available on request by either emailing ldf@ambervalley.gov.uk or telephoning 01773 841584.
Cllr Trevor Ainsworth, the Borough Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “The Local Plan is the Council’s key document in shaping the future growth of Amber Valley. I would encourage everyone to use this opportunity to look at the policies and proposals in the Draft Local Plan and to let us have their comments. These will all be taken into account before we take the Local Plan to the next stage.”
