Safety advice offered to customers at a building society in Alfreton
Visitors to a building society in Alfreton have been offered safety and security advice from their local police.
PCSO Simon Childs of the Alfreton Town Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team held a crime prevention event at the Britannia Building Society on High Street last week.
He gave out a number of items to help people stay safe, including personal alarms, property marking kit and household segment timers.
PCSO Childs said: “The session was a great success and gave us the opportunity to speak to residents who we might not usually get to see.
“Many people left the event with a better understanding of personal safety and security; we have also set up some home visits as a result of the session.”
He added: “I would like to thank Britannia Building Society for allowing us to hold the event in the branch, and hope to set up further sessions in the future.”
The crime prevention event took place on Thursday, May 16.
