Detectives investigating South Normanton garage robbery appeal for witnesses
Detectives investigating a robbery at a petrol station in South Normanton are appealing for anyone who visited the garage in the early hours of Sunday morning to come forward.
Just after 2am on Sunday (May 19) police were called to the Shell service station on Alfreton Road after a staff member reported a robbery.
A man approached the kiosk at around 2am and demanded money. The staff member refused and he left.
He returned a few minutes later carrying a black object and made further demands for cash, which was handed over by the staff member.
Officers are appealing for anyone who used the garage between 1.50am and 2.15am to contact them.
A 34-year-old man from Sutton-in-Ashfield has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody.
Anyone with information us asked to call Amber Valley CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
