Mayor motors along to open MoT bay at family-owned car dealer's premises in Denby
Ford dealer Geoff Cox has invested in an MoT bay as part of its car maintenance services at its premises on Derby Road, Denby.
The family-owned company has invested £60,000 in creating and equipping the bay which makes it the only on-site MoT testing station in Kilburn and Denby.
Managing director Neil Cox said: “This bay is an extension to the services that we offer our customers. It also means that we can give greater full maintenance training to our apprentices.”
Prior to the investment the company had requests for at least 20 MoT examinations a week which were being contracted to other companies.
It hopes that the in-house development will provide a full service to existing customers and attract new ones and soon pay for itself. The company is likely to recruit two experienced vehicle technicians to cope with the workload.
The Mayor of Amber Valley, Councillor John Nelson, cut a ribbon to declare open the new facility. He is pictured with service manager Stuart Ryan. Also pictured (left to right) are company founder Geoff Cox, his wife Molly and the Mayoress, Mrs Maureen Nelson, and other employees.
