Witness appeal following Ripley road rage incident
A driver had his wing mirror damaged by another motorist who confronted him after he stopped to let an ambulance pass.
The victim was travelling along Nottingham Road, Ripley, when an ambulance with its sirens on drove up behind him.
He pulled over to let it pass and was about to drive off when another car – a grey Peugeot 106 – drove up behind with its horn sounding and flashing headlights.
The driver of the Peugeot overtook the victim and then braked, got out of his car and punched the drivers’ side wing mirror, which broke off the vehicle.
He then got back into his car and drove off along Broadway.
The offender was described as white, about 6ft 2in, of stocky build and with mousy blond hair.
Witnesses to the incident, which happened between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on Tuesday, April 2, should call police on 101.
