Opticians host half term activities to tackle children's eye health
A RIPLEY opticians is putting on activities for families in store during the half term week to encourage locals to have their children’s eyes tested before they return to school.
Visitors to the Specsavers store at 22 Oxford Street can expect to see balloons, goody bags and kids colouring magazines on offer, alongside dedicated testing appointments for children running every day.
‘We would like to encourage local families to take this opportunity to come in and have their eyes tested,’ says Ripley store director Kuldip Dosanjh. ‘It is often only when children return to school that they notice eye-related problems – they can’t see the board, they experience headaches or have problems concentrating.
‘We’re offering dedicated appointments for children so that we can catch any issues before they arise and ensure that no child’s performance at school suffers because of it.’
Children’s eye tests are free on the NHS and at Specsavers, all glasses in the kids’ £64 and £85 ranges are free with an NHS optical voucher. Specsavers will also give you a second pair from the £64 or £85 ranges for free.
