Become a butterfly surveyor with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust
Learn to survey and record Derbyshire’s beautiful butterflies this summer with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust. The training workshops are designed for volunteers who would like to help the Trust with this important task and can commit to taking part in our annual butterfly survey programme. The data collected will feed into national data to determine the state of UK butterfly populations. It will require a time commitment of a half day per month from March to October. On these workshops we will go through both the techniques and methods as well as butterfly ID.
No experience is required, you just need to attend one of the Trust’s free training sessions on either Monday 6th March from 2pm-4.15pm or Wednesday 8th March from 10am – 12.15pm and they will teach you all you need to know to become a volunteer surveyor.
If you would like to take part, please book on to the course by calling the Trust on 01773 881188. Training sessions will take place at Derbyshire Wildlife Trust’s headquarters, Sandy Hill Park, Main Street, Middleton, Derbyshire, DE4 4LR.
