Changes at Amber Valley Borough Council
Amber Valley Borough Council welcomed a new leader, new cabinet and new mayor at its Annual Meeting on Wednesday evening (25 May).
The new leader of the controlling Conservative Group, Cllr Kevin Buttery, was confirmed as the Council's new leader and he named his deputy as Cllr Trevor Ainsworth who will also take responsibility for the Regeneration Portfolio.
Other members of the Cabinet were revealed as:
- Cllr Chris Short - Portfolio Holder for Environment
- Cllr David Taylor - Portfolio Holder for Housing and Public Health
- Cllr Jane Orton - Portfolio Holder for Community Safety
At the same meeting, Cllr Richard Iliffe was elected as new Mayor of Amber Valley. He will be joined in carrying out his Civic duties by his wife, Mayoress of Amber Valley, Mrs Susan Iliffe.
Cllr David Wilson was elected Deputy Mayor.
