Alfreton Town Council grant award
At their May meeting, the Town Council was pleased to make a grant of £750.00 to James Simpson who is participating in The DECA – an ironman triathlon, every day for 10 days, totalling 24 miles of swimming, 1,120 miles of cycling and 262 miles of running in aid of raising money to support & promote outdoor activities for young people in Alfreton.
Councillor David Taylor said “We wish James the very best of luck in this gruelling test of endurance! We know how keen he is to engage young people in outdoor activities in our town, we look forward to working with him & SISU as part of the Activ8 Alfreton Project which encourages people of all ages, abilities & fitness levels to undertake some form of regular physical activity”.
