South Normanton Woman Jailed After Breaching A Criminal Behaviour Order
A woman who is the subject of a Criminal Behaviour Order has been jailed after being found to have repeatedly breached its conditions.
Linda Johnson was handed the CBO in September 2021 – as well as a four-week suspended prison sentence – after assaulting two paramedics and a member of the public in South Normanton.
The 63-year-old was found to have breached the order by swearing at two members of the public and assaulting another woman on 14 December 2021.
She was charged with two counts of breaching the CBO and assault and was remanded in custody after appearing at court.
Appearing at North East Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on 26 January Johnson, of Alfreton Road, South Normanton, pleaded guilty to the three charges and was sentenced to 30 weeks in prison.
Sergeant James Bowler said: “Linda Johnson’s behaviour has been a blight on the community of South Normanton.
“As a team we worked hard to gain the CBO last year – which we all hoped would help in moderating her actions.
“Sadly, that did not work and the ultimate sanction of depriving her of her freedom has had to be imposed.
“I know it will come as some relief to the community that there will be some respite from her behaviour – but rest assured that when she is released from prison, we will take positive action quickly to ensure that any further criminal behaviour is dealt with robustly.”
