Witness Appeal After Somercotes Incidents
Police Officers in Somercotes are appealing for witnesses after reports of several incidents in the village on 12 January.
Police received a number of calls between 5pm and 7pm stating that a man, who appeared to be drunk, was behaving anti-socially in Somercotes park.
Later that evening, at around 8.30pm – 9pm, a man is said to have approached two girls on High Street and made sexual comments towards them, before grabbing one of them.
It is understood he then lashed out at passers-by and passing traffic.
The man is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall, with a bald head, slim build and a stubbly beard. He was wearing a padded coat and joggers.
A 58-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incidents and has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
Did you witness either of these incidents? Or do you have any other information which may help with officers with their investigations?
If so, please contact PC Lauren Shukri, quoting reference number 22*22438.
