Morris Minors at Heage Windmill
At very short notice Members of ‘Mad Mog’ (Mansfield and District Minor Owners Group) and the East Midlands Morris Minor Owners Club dropped in at Heage Windmill on Sunday morning and stayed from about 11.00am till after lunch.
Around about 15 cars arrived, dating from the 1950s onwards. Many types were represented, including the old split windscreen, four door, two door, travellers with wooden framing, etc. There was a good selection of traditional Morris Minor colours including the well-known Clarendon Grey and others such as Almond Green, Bedouin, Almond and Empire Green.
The weather was just excellent and shortly before lunch the wind increased sufficiently for the windmill sails to turn. Many of the owners were old friends to each other and were very friendly and jolly with our other visitors and ourselves ..
It was a great pleasure to welcome them to Heage Windmill and we will be pleased to receive them again at some time in future.
