Belper Neighbourhood Plan Referendum
A statement From Belper Town Council Web Site
Many , many thanks to all members of the Belper Parish community who voted to support the Neighbourhood Plan. 6,427 people voted yes, 88% of those who voted. A great result.
Thanks to all of you who came to consultation meetings, chatted to us at the monthly market stall, sent in your comments, gave evidence for your views, and kept faith with us through the long often boring technical details . The vote of support shows that we managed to reflect what you wanted to see as developments for our Town.
We said brownfield first, only then greenfield and green belt never. All the documents and details will remain on belpertowncouncil.gov.uk/neighbourhood plan for you to see.
I also want to thank the band of volunteers who got the work done. Some people made significant contributions on particular topics, some kept the show on the road with their practical support. All are important and too many to name.
We now have to make sure the NP4B gets used as you intended. It is now a live planning document that must be recognised and developed. We are setting up ways to make that happen.
Thanks to you all.
Cllr Katie Harris and the NP4B Working Group.
