Grants for flood-hit locals
Amber Valley residents and businesses who were affected by the floods of November 2019 are being offered an opportunity to receive up to £5,000 to help protect them from future flooding.
Government grants, which will be made available through local authorities, including Amber Valley Borough Council, will help homes and businesses to become more resilient to flooding by helping to pay for a range of property improvements such as putting in flood doors and raising electrics off ground level.
Grants are available to homes and businesses that have been seriously affected by flooding between 7 and 18 November 2019, including communities in Amber Valley some of which experienced a month’s worth of rain in a single day during the week in November.
Further details and how to apply can be found at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/environment/flooding/grant-schemes/flooding-grant-schemes.
Applications close on 31 October 2020.
