Man arrested in Matlock on suspicion of drugs offences
A man from Leicester has been arrested by police officers who were concerned a house in Matlock had been ‘cuckooed.’
Cuckooing refers to a situation whereby drug dealer allegedly target vulnerable people, taking over their homes and using them as a base for dealing illegal substances.
Officers visited a house in Netherfield Close on Thursday 26 March. They found a large amount of cash and more than 100 wraps of what they suspected to be drugs.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine with intent to supply.
He was questioned and released on bail while inquiries continue.
