Classic Motorcycle Day at Crich Tramway Village

Published on Saturday 25 January 2020

On Sunday 5th July, Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire will host their 4th Annual Classic Motorcycle Day.

Organised in conjunction with the Vincent H.R.D Owners’ Club, the event combines the passions of vintage trams and classic motorcycles offering a great family day out.

Free entry is offered to owners of classic motorcycles built prior to 5th July 1995 who wish to exhibit their motorcycles for a minimum of three hours, thanks to local skip & grab hire firm ’Derwent Waste Management’, who have sponsored the event for the fourth year.

There will be prizes awarded for ‘Best British Motorcycle’, ‘Best International Motorcycle’, ‘Best Japanese Motorcycle’ and ‘Best Pre-war Motorcycle’ which will be decided by judges, while the public will have the chance to vote for ‘Best in Show’.

The Old Bike Mart magazine will once again provide the cup for ‘Best Classic Motorcycle in Original Condition’ ((i.e. non-restored).

New for this year is an award for ‘Best Scooter’. Vincent H.R.D Owners’ Club organiser, Jon Lambley said:

"The Vincent H.R.D Owners’ Club are keen to include all makes of motorcycles and scooters, and for all the various owners clubs to engage together in this celebration of two wheeled machinery from the last 120 years."

For motorcyclists on modern motor bikes, which can be parked in the car parks, there is a reduced entry price to the event of £11.50 for this day. Please ask for a voucher on admission.

Events Manager at Crich Tramway Village, Candi Bell said:

“We’re delighted to be hosting our 4th Classic Motorcycle event again this year, which continues to be very popular with motorcyclists and families looking for an interesting day out. We have welcomed over 300 classic motorcycles each year over the last 3 years and it’s great to see how much work has gone into maintaining them”.

General admission costs £18.00 for adults, £14.50 for seniors, £11.00 for children, or £41.00 for a family ticket (two adults and 3 children). These prices include free return within 12 months (subject to opening dates and excluding the World War II events).

Registration for the event is via www.tramway.co.uk and there is an event Facebook page with regular updates. You can also contact Crich Tramway Village on 01773 854321 or email enquiry@tramway.co.uk
