Angry Bee Micro Pub Heanor Celebrates Raising £1701.20 For DLRAA
On Thursday 19th December 2019, Mick Ward (Owner of the Angry Bee Micro Pub) and customers celebrated raising £1701.20, for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
The donation was raised over the last 2 years from regular collections, raffles and selling preserves made by one of the regulars and they have been supported by the Belper & Matlock District Volunteers Group. There whole aim was to raise enough to help save a life. They have set themselves a new mission for 2020 and hoping to reach £3000.00. This is one of Heanor’s Secret Gems if you are in the area and want to try some amazing beers and help an amazing life service and the same time this is the place to visit.
Richard said: “I was delighted to be part of this fantastic achievement, their passion and support for our service is truly fantastic”. DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no Government or National Lottery funding. Therefore, support from people such as Mick and the customers of the Angry Bee really is invaluable and goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying and saving lives.” We would like to thank all the staff and customers for the generosity and fantastic support they have given.
DLRAA was formed in 2008 and has carried out more than 16,900 rescue missions and saved many lives in the process, each rescue mission costing on average £1,700 with DLRAA completing on average 5-6 missions every single day, 365 days a year.
