Derbyshire police offer Christmas shoppers advice

As another weekend of busy preparations for Christmas approaches Derbyshire Police thought it was timely to offer some advice to help ensure you and your property keep safe.


Unfortunately this can also be a time when criminals are thinking about doing their ‘shopping’ and so we would like to give some simple tips to help ensure that the presents you buy end up with the people they were intended for.

Derbyshire is a very safe place to live, work and visit and we are determined to keep it that way. Officers and staff will be working right through the festive period to keep you safe and these are a few things you can do to help us, help you:

 

Whilst Shopping:

 

Having got your presents home or had them delivered, then there are also some steps to take to keep your house safe:

 

If you have any particular worries then we are holding a range of range of events across the county where you can call in and speak to one of our Safer Neighbourhood officers:

11am – 1pm - Costa Coffee, East Street Derby

10am – 3pm – Park Farm Centre, Allestree, Derby

 

Sunday 8 December

11am – 2pm – Wooley Moor Nurseries, Ashover New Road, Alfreton

 

Monday 9 December

12.30pm – 2.30pm – Sainsbury’s, Peak Drive, Osmaston Park Road, Derby

 

Tuesday 10 December

10am – 12midday – The Delph, Swadlincote

11am – 1pm – Asda Superstore, Arleston Lane, Sinfin, Derby

2pm – 4pm – Barrow Hill Memorial car park, Station Road, Chesterfield

 

Wednesday 11 December

10am – 12midday – Greenbank Leisure Centre, Civic Way, Swadlincote

10am -12midday – Normanton Green Thyme Community Hub, Normanton Park, Derby

4pm – 6pm – Holme Hall Community Centre, Mercaston Close, Chesterfield

 

Saturday 14 December

10am – 1pm – Long Eaton Market Place, Long Eaton

10am – 2pm – St Michael’s Brimington Church Hall, Church Street, Brimington, Chesterfield

12midday – 1pm – McDonalds restaurant, Raynesway, Derby

 

Sunday 15 December

12midday – 2pm – McDonalds restaurant, Osmaston Park Road, Derby

 

Monday 16 December

9.30am – 12.30pm – The Deli, Blenheim Drive, Allestree, Derby

5pm – 7pm – Sainsbury’s, Civic Way, Swadlincote

 

Wednesday 18 December

Thursday 19 December

Monday 23 December

10am – 12midday – Vicar Lane Shopping Centre, Chesterfield
