Brexit Party Names James Crocker As Prospective Parliamentary Candidate For Mid Derbyshire

Published on Thursday 31 October 2019

James Crocker has been announced as a prospective parliamentary candidate for the Brexit Party in Mid Derbyshire. James, partner at Albert E Sharp (a midlands-based investment management company) will contest the constituency in the next general election, standing against incumbent, Pauline Latham.

James, said: "Over the last few years I have become increasingly disillusioned by our representatives in Westminster and beyond. The post-referendum chaos has been caused by career politicians motivated by self-interest and for a long time I could not see a way out. Then the Brexit Party emerged and the vision laid out by the team made perfect sense to me. It immediately became clear that for the first time, certainly in my lifetime, real change is on its way. Very soon, all of the negativity will be behind us and our country can look forward with confidence to a bright and exciting future. For businesses in and around Derby there will be brand new markets to address, partnerships to be formed and deals to be made. We have a rich local heritage with forefathers such as Arkwright and Strutt who saw opportunity and built legacies that are with us today. Likewise I believe that this will prove to be a monumental phase in our region’s history. I want to be part of shaping this exciting future and that is why I’m coming home to help make it happen."

Richard Tice, Brexit Party Chairman said: "The Brexit Party stands ready to fight a general election with a full slate of candidates in all the UK’s 650 constituencies. We will take on the major parties, which have failed the British people time and time again.

The vast majority of our candidates are entering politics for the first time and they come from all walks of life, backgrounds, races and religions. Their greatest strength is that they are not professional politicians, but are competent individuals, connected to their local areas and issues they seek to represent. They have achieved great things in their professional or personal life, from entrepreneurs, small business owners and economists – to teachers, academics, forklift driver and bankers.

But we all share a commitment to deliver Brexit, defend democracy and change politics for good."

The three Brexit Party MEPs for the East Midlands have congratulated prospective parliamentary candidate for Mid Derbyshire, James Crocker. Annunziata Rees-Mogg, Jonathan Bullock and Matthew Patten said in a joint statement: "We would like to wish James all the best in Mid Derbyshire. Along with our prospective candidates up and down the country, James will fight for Brexit and fight to restore trust in our democracy, which has been betrayed by the Government and the political classes."
