Halloween safety advice issued by Derbyshire Police
It’s that time of year again when we would like to offer some advice around the Halloween and bonfire night period, as it is a time when people may experience unwanted trick or treaters or what they consider to be anti-social behaviour.
Residents can get hold of posters to put in front room windows or doors which show passers-by that that they do not wish to be visited. These are available from libraries, local convenience stores, or directly from your local SNT - please message their Facebook pages to find out how you can get one from them.
- Young children involved in trick or treat should be accompanied by an adult
- Consider calling at houses where you know the occupants, rather than strangers
- Respect the privacy and wishes of people who do not want to take part in trick or treat – observe the “Sorry No Trick or Treat” posters people may display in doors or windows.
