DLRAA Receives Donation From Derbyshire Shire Horse Association Show 2019
On Sunday 4th August 2019 Derbyshire Shire Horse Association Show Organizers donated £516.77 for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
Simon Liversey (president) presented Richard Fletcher Volunteer Derbyshire Community Representative for DLRAA, with the money. The donation was made when the club members decided to raise some money for us at their annual Shire Horse Event in Croots Farm on Wirksworth Road in Duffield. The event was supported by the Belper & Matlock Volunteers Group.
Richard said: “We were delighted to be presented with the money from Derbyshire Shire Horse Association. DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no Government or National Lottery funding. Therefore, support from this club really is invaluable and goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying and saving lives.” We would like to thank everyone for the generosity and fantastic support they have given and the event was generously supported by many local businesses
DLRAA was formed in 2008 and has carried out more than 16,600 rescue missions and saved many lives in the process, each rescue mission costing on average £1,700 with DLRAA completing on average 5-6 missions every single day, 365 days a year.
