Urban Club offers Heanor teens the chance to meet and speak about what they want in the community

Published on Wednesday 6 February 2019

Young people in Heanor have the chance to meet up and speak up about what they want in their community every week during February.

The Urban Club will take place every Wednesday (February 6, 13, 20 and 27) between 7.30pm and 9pm at the Wilmot Street Centre.

There will be a pool table, food and drinks and a chance to meet up with friends, as well as a chance for 11 to 16 year olds to have a say about activities, what they would like and how they feel about the community.

It’s been set up by the Heanor and Loscoe Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, Heanor and Loscoe Town Council, Heanor Multi Agency Team, Frosts, Tesco and One Stop.

PC David Norcross, of the Heanor and Loscoe Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This is an opportunity for all young people to come to their local community centre and tell us what they would like within our community.

“Please come along, meet up with others and give us your views and ideas in a safe environment whilst having fun and developing new friendships.”

You can contact the Heanor and Loscoe Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team by calling 101, or sending them a message through the My Local Police pages of the website, www.derbyshire.police.uk

The team are also on Facebook, www.facebook.com/HeanorLangleyMillSNT, or you can follow them on Twitter, @HeanorLMillSNT.
