Bright Friday at Croots Farm Shop to raise money for Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre

Published on Monday 19 November 2018

Staff at Croots Farm Shop in Derbyshire are naming this Friday Bright Friday and will donate 10% of takings to local charity Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre.

As many national and global retailers launch Black Friday sales, independent farm shop Croots has decided to mark the day by renaming Friday 23rd November as Bright Friday… and wants to raise much-needed funds for its adopted local charity.

The farm shop near Duffield has supported Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre for several years with a range of fund-raising efforts. Now it has decided to donate a portion of this Friday’s takings to the charity, which provides disadvantaged Derbyshire children with holidays in Skegness.

“We are a small, independent British company, and Bright Friday – where we raise money for a local good cause – really sits with our ideals and ethos, so we are using the opportunity to raise extra money for our adopted charity,” said Kay Croot, who runs the farm shop off Wirksworth Road with husband Steve.

“Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre is a great local cause that Croots Farm Shop has supported over the years, and we hope that customers will once again get behind our efforts to help the charity to continue its good work with local children.”

Croots Farm Shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm (Shires Eatery until 4.30pm) and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays. Croots runs Fresh Fish Thursdays between 9am and 1pm on Thursdays.
