Festive Fun in Ripley this Christmas

Published on Saturday 17 November 2018

Ripley Town Council are bringing festive cheer to the town this Christmas. Starting on Friday 30th November 2018 at 6.30pm with the Christmas Light switch on. Yes - the 'waving' snowman is back, bringing joy to all that sees him.

There will be Christmas Carols around the tree accompanied by Newstead Brass Band and a visit from Father Christmas.  Amber Sound will also be there entertaining the crowds.

Free children's rides will be available for the little ones along with a visit from Woody from Toy Story and Elsa from Frozen.

Food and drink will be available to keep your insides nice and warm.

We hope you will come along to join us at this great community event.

It doesn't end there.  On Saturday 1st December, a brass band will be entertaining shoppers throughout the town centre streets.

There is also the Family Christmas Market on the Sunday, 2nd December, 10am until 4pm on Ripley Market Place.  The area will be busy with stalls selling a variety of goods such as, food, drink, gifts and there will also be some local charities with fundraising and information stalls. For a full list of stalls, please visit the Ripley Town Council Facebook page.

For the first time in Ripley, we will have a synthetic ice-skating rink taking over the car park on Shirley Road. It is free to have a go on and is for all ages!

Newstead Brass Band will be back, this time accompanied by Somercotes Choral Society, entertaining us with music and putting us into the festive spirit.

There will be Ripley based Balloon Art Works making balloon animals FREE OF CHARGE!

FREE Face Painting, so get thinking about what you would like to be on the day!

Dancing from the talented Ripley Academy of Dance, Ladies Green Garters and Ripley Morris Men.

FREE children's rides for the little ones to enjoy and appearances from Elf on the Shelf, Poppy from Trolls and Chase from Paw Patrol. Watch out for the naughty elf on the skating rink! And obviously, Father Christmas will be there too! Please come along and support your local community event this Christmas.
