Police and fire safety event to take place in Heanor

Published on Thursday 15 November 2018

Police officers in Heanor have joined forces with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service to hold a safety event in the town centre.

The Heanor and Loscoe Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team and Community Safety Officers from the fire service will have a stand on Heanor Market Place on Saturday, November 17 between 10am and 2pm.

Residents and shoppers will be able to speak to their local officers about any concerns, and pick up advice around crime prevention and safety.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service will also be offering home fire safety visits.

PCSO Thomas Shale of the Heanor and Loscoe Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This event is a great chance for us to work alongside local fire officers, to meet local residents, shoppers and visitors and help them to stay safe. We look forward to seeing you.”

While at the event we’re encouraging people to snap a selfie or take a picture as part of our online initiative to show our officers engaging in our diverse local communities, by collecting photographs of our officers and the people they meet.

If you want to take part please ask the officer for a picture or selfie and tag us on Twitter (@DerbysPolice) and Instagram (@derbyshireconstabulary) with the hashtag #CopASelfie.

Would you like to get in touch with your local Safer Neighbourhood policing team but can’t make the event? You can contact them by calling 101, or sending them a message online through the My Local Police pages of the website, www.derbyshire.police.uk.

You can follow the work of the Heanor and Loscoe Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team through their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/HeanorLangleyMillSNT, or by following them on Twitter, @HeanorLMillSNT.
