Swanwick ale pub has kitchen removed as part of £25k scheme.

Published on Sunday 4 November 2018

After only ten days and nearly £25k, our local pub, The Steampacket in Swanwick has re opened after a major refurbishment to transform this village pub, to a more modern and up to date public house. Rather than adding a kitchen, they have chosen to take out that facility; due to the heavy focus on its valued customers and the cask ales the pub is known to have on offer.

The pub re opened on Saturday the 27th October, for the licensees Amanda and Gary, to welcome all of their customers back again. Andrew Crawford, Operations Director has stated “by knocking the partition wall through, we have transformed the interior and layout by making the pub a bigger, open space. We have chosen to invest in the Steampacket and focus on what we do well, with our place within the community at the heart of everything we do.”

The Steampacket is well known in the area, for supporting local charities, regular events and quality real ale, all to bring the community together. This change has opened up the space and the pub will now be able to cater for large parties and functions. They will also be taking advantage of this for their regular live entertainment nights and also events throughout the year. The rest of the pub has also been given a makeover; which effortlessly opens up the larger space and creates a modern day, community feel and atmosphere. Perfect for customers both old and new.

In the near future, the pub will be holding many events including the Tony Belles v Oleksander Usyk boxing match, on the 10th November, where they will be fighting for the World Cruiser weight title. Amanda and Gary will also be hosting an opening night in November, to welcome their customers back properly after the refurbishment. So keep an eye out for more information.
