Croots Farm Shop in Derbyshire in the spotlight for Farm Shop & Deli Awards
Popular Derbyshire farm shop Croots has been put forward for the title of Farm Shop Large Retailer of the Year in the Farm Shop & Deli Awards 2019 – and is asking customers and local people for support.
Croots, which is based just outside Duffield on Wirksworth Road, is celebrating ten years of being in business and has won numerous accolades and awards during that time.
Now the retailer is in the running for the Farm Shop & Deli Awards 2019, which are highly respected in the industry for playing an important role in supporting, and celebrating, the UK's independent, specialist retail market. Each entrant will be judged on the many factors covering speciality retail including highest levels of service, product knowledge, initiative, innovation and community involvement.
The judging process will include mystery visits and public votes from consumers via the awards website, and Croots is asking customers to back its bid by popping online and voting for the farm shop.
Kay Croot, who runs Croots Farm Shop with husband Steve, said: “Croots Farm Shop & Café has been through a lot of change over the last ten years, but throughout all the changes, the team has been amazing and continues to serve our customers with real passion, enthusiasm and care.
“Our customers love the combination of our farm views, our Shire Horses, our quality food and in particular our home-reared and home-produced foods and, of course, our service. Our mystery shop results and our Customer Listening Groups endorse that, and we are really proud of what we’ve delivered.
“We have great relationships with our 40 plus local suppliers, many of which we’ve worked with since opening. We love to innovate, and Steve regularly works with the butchery team and the production team to come up with new ideas such as World Cup themed sausages or flavoured gins!
“We are also really proud of our events, which always create a real buzz on the farm and in the shop, and the team really excel themselves to serve all of our customers. We hope our loyal customers and the people of Derbyshire will spare a couple of minutes to vote for us in the Farm Shop & Deli Awards.”
The coveted awards recognise excellence within the specialist retail market, focusing on independent speciality retailers who sell regional fresh/farm produce or have a delicatessen counter. They are offered across twelve categories, including Farm Shop Large Retailer.
Entrants will also have the opportunity to win as a Regional Winner. The Regional Winners will progress through to have the opportunity to win the overall coveted title of Farm Shop & Deli Awards Retailer of the Year announced at the Farm Shop & Deli Show, Monday 8th April 2019 at Birmingham’s NEC.
