Crich Tramway Village Search For A Local Hero

Published on Thursday 4 October 2018

Crich Tramway Village, near Matlock is welcoming nominations for Local Heroes.

If you know someone who helps others, has overcome challenges or deserves recognition in the East Midlands, why not nominate them?

All nominees will be judged, and the winner will be invited to officially turn on the illuminations at Crich Tramway Village at the Starlight Extravaganza event on Monday 29th October at 5.30pm.

You can nominate them by completing a simple form on the Crich Tramway Village website under What’s On / Starlight Extravaganza: https://www.tramway.co.uk/whatson/starlight-spectacular-2/

Marketing & Business Development Manager, Amanda Blair said: “We last ran a local heroes competition two years ago and had some wonderful nominees from people who worked tirelessly for charities, people who had overcome personal difficulties and carers.

We have previously had actors or celebrities turning on the illuminations for our Starlight event, so we thought it would be fantastic to combine the two, and let a local hero become a celebrity for an evening and gain the recognition they deserve”.

The closing date for nominations is Sunday 21st October 2018 and the winner and nominee will be notified by 25th October 2018.

The Starlight Extravaganza features the Tramway Village illuminated, with vintage trams running in the dark from Monday 29t October to Saturday 3rd November.  There’s a programme of daily events featuring look-a-likes characters, and the option to take Afternoon Tea with the ‘Mad Hatter’ and ‘Alice’ on Friday 2nd November.

For further information and the daily programme, please visit the website: www.tramway.co.uk/whatson or call 01773 854321.
