Wildlife Festival 2019 - It's back and wilder than ever!
Ilkeston’s very own Wildside Festival is back for 2019 – and bigger, in fact, wilder than ever before!
Set for 15th June 2019 at Woodside Farm, next door to Shipley Country Park. Carry on just along the Nutbrook Trail on the 15th and you’ll be rewarded with a day packed full of live music, arts, wild activities and superb food and drink, all in support of local wildlife.
The festival is hosted by Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, with the aim of bringing thousands of people closer to nature. Jack Roper, festival organiser explains, “At the Trust we believe that everyone should have the chance to experience how awesome nature is – so, we decided to run a festival so thousands could experience pond dipping, bug hunting, den building, learn about wild flowers and all of Ilkeston’s local wildlife – all under the summer sun, on a gorgeous nature reserve! And it’s not just wildlife that we enjoy on the day – no festival is without live music, great food and drink and we’ve even thrown in some quirky storytelling and wild activities.”
And whilst you’re finding your wild side, you can rest assured that every ticket sold goes to helping local wildlife too.
Tickets are selling fast so grab yours on the Super Early Bird deal at just £10 for an adult or £25 for a family. Tickets are sold online at www.wildsidefest.com. You’ll also find loads more information about the day and a review of the 2018 festival if you still need convincing!
Gates open on the day at 1pm until 10pm – parking and disabled access available – Woodside Farm, Pit Lane, Shipley, DE75 7JL. Please note that this a ticket only event. For ticket sales or for more information contact Derbyshire Wildlife Trust on 01773 88188.
