The Big 1 Returns To Chaddesden Park

Published on Saturday 24 March 2018

Organised by Chaddesden Partnership Group in association with Derby LIVE, The BIG 1 at Chaddesden Park returns on Sunday 3 June, with all the family favourites that guarantee a great day out for everyone.

Speaking about the upcoming event Councillor Sara Bolton, Chair of the Chaddesden Partnership, said: “I’m very pleased that we have been able to secure the Big 1 at Chaddesden Park for another year. It is a much loved event for the whole community which we hope everyone can come along to and enjoy. It’s events like these that contribute to making Derby an even greater place to live, work and visit.”

The inflatable and funfair operators will provide everything from children’s inflatables, such as a giant slide, to scary rides and side stalls. The funfair will be open from Thursday 31 May until Saturday 2 June, 2pm – 10pm and 10am – 6pm (last rides from 5.30pm) on Sunday 3 June.

The park will be filled with a selection of stalls selling books, sweets, crafts and jewellery along with those handing out information about a number of different groups, businesses and charities.

There will be a dance arena, alongside plenty of live entertainment and the ever popular food arena. The fantastic Dog Show also makes a return this year, with lots of different categories. Entries will be made on the day at the Dog Show Arena.

Chaddesden Park Café will be providing an assortment of hot and cold refreshments and there will be a wide selection of catering stalls including donuts, toasties, hog roast, ice cream, jacket potatoes and a BBQ. The Age UK Chaddesden Park Centre will also be offering teas and coffees.

Every year this event attracts thousands of people to experience the fun of the fair and the exciting activities on offer. The Big 1 takes place at Chaddesden Park on Sunday 3 June, 11am - 5pm, with free entry; this event is sure to be an enjoyable day out for all the family.

There will also be a music corner performance area for local groups and artists. Anyone who wishes to enquire about having a stall should contact Sally.greatorex@derby.gov.uk
