PCC set to examine police performance and stop and search progress

Published on Thursday 15 March 2018

Stop and search data and tackling crime will top the agenda at Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa's Strategic Governance Board meeting next week.

The meeting, due to be held at 2pm on Monday 19 March, is the last time the board will meet during the afternoon as the PCC is revamping the way these scrutiny meetings are held to encourage more local people to get involved.

The new style of meetings will be held at 6.30pm to accommodate those people who work or have childcare commitments during the day. They will also be more public-friendly, with interactive presentations from the Force, partners and the PCC rather than reports.

Among other changes, the scrutiny body is changing its name to the Strategic Priorities Assurance Board or SPA for short to ensure meetings focus on the Commissioner's Police and Crime Plan.

Among the items due to be discussed on Monday are a performance and financial update, a review of stop and search data, a presentation on the work of Neighbourhood Watch and a presentation on Serious Acquisitive Crime.

The meeting will begin with public questions for a maximum of 30 minutes. Members of the public are welcome to observe the full meeting but may not take part once the question period has closed.

Questions can be asked in person at the meeting or remotely through www.sli.do using event code H323. This is now open to receive questions until 2.30pm on 19 March.

Alternatively, questions can be submitted in advance via email to the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (pccoffice@derbyshire.pnn.police.uk). All questions will be answered either at the meeting or shortly afterwards if the information needed is not at hand.

The meeting will take place at Police HQ, Butterley Hall, Ripley, Derbyshire, DE5 3RS - members of the public are advised to allow time to complete the sign-in process for security purposes. The full agenda is available on the Police and Crime Commissioner's website.
