Free Body MOT for Somercotes area residents
Somercotes residents have been invited to have a Free Body MOT at Somercotes Village Hall on 2 February from 9.30 - 3.30pm.
The Free Body MOT is part of a day-long Wellbeing event organised by Amber Valley Borough Council and sponsored by Central England Co-operative, offering support to help individuals take the first steps towards an active and healthy lifestyle.
Wellbeing experts invite local residents to have the following checked:
- blood pressure and heart rate
- height/weight and BMI
- body fat %
- skeletal muscle %
- visceral fat %
- peak flow
Also in attendance will be many health, lifestyle and support organisations, including Core Victim Support Services, Derbyshire Healthwatch, Citizens Advice, Stroke Association and Alzheimer's Society, Hearing Help, Sight Support Derbyshire, Amber Trust (P3), Trent PTS, Strictly No Falling, Rethink, Turning Point, Derbyshire Fire & Rescue, National Westminster Bank, Futurehomescape, C4TCT and the Air Ambulance and Derbyshire Blood Bikes.
Commented Amber Valley Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing and Public Health, Cllr David Taylor: “This is a great opportunity for all those local people who promised themselves a healthier and more active lifestyle in the New Year to get some expert support and guidance to help them on their way.”
