DLRAA Receives Donation From Belper Halloween Spooktacular Bucket Collection 2017

Published on Friday 17 November 2017

On Monday 11th November 2017 John & Jenny May donated £579.05, for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).

John & Jenny May presented Richard, Grace & Julie Fletcher Volunteer Derbyshire Community Representatives for DLRAA, with the money at their house in Belper. They decided they would support the DLRAA in a very unique way, to decorate their front garden for Halloween and asked passer-by to make a donation. This was the seventh year John has decided to raise money for us and he was very pleased at the generosity of the people of Belper. Once again John invited me Grace & Julie to the event and we helped with the bucket collection and the night activities.

This year’s total was boosted when John made a Chocolate Train with a track and Carriage. The Railway Tea Rooms kindly agreed to do a raffle for us and they raised a fantastic £102.41. A special thank you to Clare Ranson, Kate Pecz & Debbie Hales for all their help and support with this.

Richard said: “We were delighted to be presented with the money by John & Jenny. DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no Government or National Lottery funding. Therefore support from people such as John & Jenny May really is invaluable and goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying and saving lives.” We also would like to thank Belper Firefighters for their support on the evening.

We are already planning for next year’s event, please come and support this amazing evening with John & Jenny May Halloween Spookdracular fun for all the family & fiends.

DLRAA was formed in 2008 and attend approximately five rescue missions every day, from horse riding accidents, to road traffic collisions, to sports injuries, falls, and many more –and has carried out more than 9,100 rescue missions and saved many lives in the process, each rescue mission costing on average £1,700

The Pictures are some of his Life Size Displays in his Garden from the night and the cheque presentation with John May, Grace & Richard Fletcher in their garden.
