Belper residents invited to NHS healthcare talks and signing of Armed Forces Covenant
Belper and district residents are invited to a meeting of local NHS leaders from Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust on Thursday 30 November at which the trust will sign the Armed Forces Covenant in support of serving personnel, past and present.
The meeting at Belper Town Football Club, Christchurch Meadow, Bridge Street, Belper DE56 1BA, will include a chance for members of the public to ask questions about local NHS care in the area, as part of the trust’s regular accountability to the area it serves.
In addition, the meeting will hear from NHS staff members who currently serve as Armed Forces reservists and NHS trust chairman Prem Singh will sign the Armed Forces Covenant.
It comes in recognition of the contribution made by all NHS staff in Derbyshire who previously served in the Armed Forces, who have family serving or who give up their spare time as reservists.
The invitation is open to all, with light refreshments at 12.30pm, followed at 1pm by a short talk on NHS services in the Belper area and an opportunity for people to ask questions. The lunch and Q&A session is designed to be an informal way of encouraging people to share queries or suggestions about NHS care with members of the team running Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust. The NHS trust’s board members will hear people’s views, in an informal way.
1.30pm the NHS trust board will begin its formal board meeting, hearing from reservists who work in the NHS in Derbyshire and the signing of the covenant. The full agenda for the meeting will be posted online: http://www.dchs.nhs.uk/home/about/the_board/board-meeting-agenda-and-papers.
Visitors are welcome to stay for the formal trust board meeting as observers. Questions are invited for discussion during the formal business of the trust board but need to be submitted in advance.
Please contact: Kirsteen Farrar, associate director of corporate governance/trust secretary, via email: kirsteen.farrar@nhs.net, tel: 01773 525065 or write to Kirsteen at Babington Hospital, Derby Road, Belper, DE56 1WH.
