Published on Sunday 8 October 2017

The Starlight Spectacular at Crich Tramway Village running Monday 23rd – Saturday 28th October, is an opportunity to see the Village illuminated and ride vintage trams running in the dark.

The official ‘Lights Switch On’ will take place on Monday 23rd October at 7.00pm with Coronation Street actor, Oliver Farnworth, who plays Andy Carver in the popular soap. Oli's first feature film – Love Type D – is due out on release soon. Oliver is delighted to be switching on the lights, and sends a big shout out to the good people of Derbyshire and beyond!

Event organiser, Alison Isaacs, said: “The Starlight Spectacular has proved so popular over the years that we are repeating it and adding more activities each year. We’re delighted that Oliver Farnworth has agreed to perform the official light switch on for us.”

There are various activities throughout the week, with look-a-like characters from ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Hermione’ on Monday and Tuesday to Superheroes such as Spiderman, Batman, Joker and Cat Woman look-a-alike actors on Thursday and ‘Starlight Wars’ on Friday and Saturday.

Children dressing in Super Heroes costumes will get free admission on Thursday 26th October.

Trams will run until 8.00pm on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and until 7.00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.
