Sgt. Mark Weldon, who is in charge of the local Safer Neighbourhood policing teams, said: “Enquiries are on-going into these incidents and I would urge anyone with information which could help to contact us.
“I would also advise people that the best way to stop yourself becoming a victim of car crime is to ensure your car is secure while you are away from it, to not leave valuables on view, and to take them with you if at all possible.”
As well as making sure that vehicles are properly locked, windows are secure and any items removed, motorists are also advised to park in a well-lit area, or a garage if possible, and to remove any marks left behind by sat-nat or other equipment holders.
Anyone with information about the incidents should contact Derbyshire police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.. You can also send us a message online through the Contact Us pages of the website by clicking here.
