DLRAA Receives Donation From Heage Garden Fete 2017

Published on Thursday 7 September 2017

On Tuesday 29th August 2017, Dave, Tina & Joshua Fielding and her Family donated £2092.60 for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).

Dave, Tina & Joshua Fielding presented Richard, Grace & Julie Fletcher Derbyshire Representatives for DLRAA, with the money that was raised when Tina and her family opened their Garden for a Fete on Saturday 26th August 2017; the event had refreshments, cake & tombola stalls and a special raffle with prizes donated by local business (a special thank you to everyone for their fantastic support and amazing prizes).

Richard said: “We were delighted to be presented with the money from Tina and her family. They have done an amazing job. On the day so many volunteers helped her and we were also there providing support and help on the day too. DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no Government or National Lottery funding. Therefore support from people such as Tina and her team of volunteers really are invaluable and this goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying and this will help us to save a life.” Tina said “It’s been a truly fantastic day and it would not be possible without the help of my family and friends. For Joshua, my son this has really helped him by volunteering and being part of a big community event, which has helped save a life and provide some of the key medical supplies needed, Also I need to thank everyone who made this event possible and helped on the day and supported us, and the many donations from people unable to attend. The event was such a success and doesn't happen without lots of kind people to come and help and spend. Lastly to Dave my Husband for being there with all the highs and lows this type of event brings.

DLRAA was formed in 2008 and has carried out more than 9,000 rescue missions and saved many lives in the process, DLRAA attend approximately five rescue missions every day, from horse riding accidents, to road traffic collisions, to sports injuries, falls, and many more each rescue mission costing on average £1,700.
