Two new PCSOs take to the streets of Alfreton, South Normanton and Pinxton
Two new Police Community Support Officers have joined the policing teams on streets of Alfreton, South Normanton and Pinxton.
Amanda Seaton and Glyn Lewis are the latest additions to the Safer Neighbourhood policing teams covering those areas having recently completed their training.
PCSO Amanda Seaton is part of the Safer Neighbourhood teams which cover Alfreton, Crich, Whatstandwell, South Wingfield and Pentrich.
Originally from Scotland, Amanda worked in the police enquiry offices in Alfreton, Chesterfield, Dronfield and Killamarsh for more than 10 years before becoming a PCSO but wanted a bit of a career change and to work out in the local community. Outside of work PCSO Seaton enjoys keeping fit and cookery.
PCSO Glyn Lewis joins the South Normanton and Pinxton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team. Glyn is not new to the role, having already worked as a PCSO in the Dronfield areas.
Glyn left the role to try out a different career, but returned having missed the team work and challenges that being a PCSO brings. He enjoys running, and is training for the Great North Run which is due to take place later this year.
Team Sgt. Neil Milner said: “We welcome Amanda and Glyn as new PCSOs on board with our Safer Neighbourhood teams in Alfreton, Alfreton Rural and South Normanton and Pixton.
“They have both come to us with previous experience in neighbourhood policing and customer service, and have been busy getting to know the communities they serve."
