New PCSO takes to the streets of Belper
People living in the Belper area have a new face on the streets as the local neighbourhood policing team welcomes a new member.
Claire Brown is the latest Police Community Support Officer to join the Belper Town Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Before becoming a PCSO, Claire worked at Whitworth Hospital as a ward clerk on Oker Ward, and in administration support for the Minor Injuries Unit.
PCSO Brown said: “Since starting at Belper I have spent time working with all members of our team, who have all been extremely helpful and allowed me to get involved with a wide range of things, from visits to local schools, anti-social behaviour patrols, police surgeries and panel meetings and also a collision.
“I’ve been busy getting to know the local community, including local councillors and neighbourhood watch groups. It’s been such a change from my last job, but I’m really enjoying the role and have found it to be both challenging and rewarding. It does help that I have such a great team here with me at Belper!”
She added: “If there are any concerns or issues you think we could help with then please contact us and if you see me out and about in the area, don’t hesitate to stop and say hello.”
Outside of work Claire, who is married and has two children aged 11 and 16, likes to help out with the Middleton and Wirksworth Freestyle Wrestling Club and is the secretary for the Midlands Region of the British Wrestling Association.
