Council Event attracts developers and builders

Published on Friday 30 June 2017

More than 50 developers and builders joined Amber Valley Borough Council and the Homes and Communities Agency at a special event to help stimulate new house building in the area.

The Council put together the event, held in Alfreton, to help individuals, builders and developers looking to unlock housing development sites and access funding in the Borough. Along with a number of informative presentations it provided opportunities to network with Government support agencies, and other developers to progress ideas and plans to increase house building in the area.

The Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, Cllr Trevor Ainsworth, commented: “We recognise that Amber Valley requires new quality housing to meet demand and ensure that buyers, and renters have a range of options available to them. This, in turn, is key to ensuring that we attract and maintain a strong, skilled, workforce and develop vibrant communities benefitting our economy.

“The Council approves a large number of planning applications but once developers have the green light we want to encourage them to get building and speed up the rate of delivery of new houses. The Council wishes to be positive and encourage house builders to talk to us and let us know how we can help.”

Developers are invited to apply to the Homes and Communities Agency and access the available loans to help build new homes. View www.ambervalley.gov.uk/housingevent2017
