Derbyshire runner raises £2535.00 for The Air Ambulance Service in the London Marathon 2017
On Thursday 22nd June 2017 Ian Hartshorne donated £2535.00 & gift aid of £446.50 to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
Ian Hartshorne presented Richard Fletcher Volunteer Derbyshire Community Representative for DLRAA, with the cheque at his business Derbyshire Floorcraft Ltd Sitwell Business Centre, Heage Road Industrial Estate, Heage Road, Ripley. The donation came when Ian a local man from Pentrich got a place to take part in the 26.2-mile challenge of the London Marathon as part of his amazing funding raising goal Ian also hosted an event at Pentrich Village Hall. Ian was really surprised at the generosity from everyone. This was Ian’s second Marathon and completed the 26.2-mile course in a fantastic 4 hours and 25 Minutes.
Richard said: “we were delighted to be presented with the cheque from Ian Hartshorne and we are all very proud of his amazing achievement; DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no Government or National Lottery funding. This goes a long way to help keep our lifesaving service flying and saving lives.”
DLRAA formed in 2008 attend approximately five rescue missions every day, from horse riding accidents, to road traffic collisions, to sports injuries, falls, and many more – with each rescue mission costing on average £1,700
